On October 1, our CEO Maricela Garcia shared her passion for supporting and strengthening Latino communities in Chicago with state and local officials at a Hispanic Heritage Month celebration hosted by Comptroller Susana Mendoza. The event honored four outstanding Latino leaders with a commemorative award for their service to marginalized Chicago communities. Honorees included Gloria Castillo, President & CEO of Chicago United, Teresa Cordova of the UIC Great Cities Institute, Modesto Tico Valle of the Center on Halsted, and our own Maricela Garcia. Congratulations to them, and thank you, Maricela, for your continued leadership of the Gads Hill Center! To read more of her story, check out her bio on our website here.
