Rosura and her 32-month-old son, Daniel, have been enrolled in Parents as First Teachers since May 2008. Through the targeted literacy-centered activities and strong family support services that Gads Hill brings, Daniel is saying words to ask for things instead of just screaming in frustration. He’s also calmed down some – he can focus on the task at hand for 10 or 15 minutes, whereas he couldn’t sit still for even a few minutes before. He’s also started to recognize things in books as signs for spoken words – a key step in beginning literacy. "I’m very happy with Gads Hill’s program," Rosura says. "I want to make sure that I get my other two children in Gads Hill’s programs and keep them at Gads Hill as they grow up."
