EcoFamilia EcoFamilia is a collaborative effort with the City of Chicago’s Department of the Environment that is converting our century-old facility into a model site for natural resource conservation. This retrofit includes the installation of new, energy efficient windows, solar panels and “eco-friendly” landscaping. Gads Hill Center is complementing the retrofit of our facility with an extensive environmental education component aimed at developing youth leaders capable of educating their families and community about the environment, with a particular emphasis on energy and energy conservation.
